How much does a Tableau consultant cost?
It depends on scope. A focused dashboard build or audit runs as a fixed-price project; ongoing work runs on a monthly retainer. Most engagements start with a short call to size the work before any number is quoted.
Do you work in Tableau Desktop, Server, or Cloud?
All three. Desktop for authoring, Server or Cloud for publishing, sharing, and governed access. The right setup depends on how your team consumes reporting and where the data lives.
Do you build on our existing data warehouse or start fresh?
Whichever fits. If the warehouse is sound, I build on it. If the reporting problems trace back to the data foundation, that gets audited and corrected first, so the dashboards reconcile.
Can you fix or optimize dashboards someone else built?
Yes. Rework of existing Tableau workbooks is common, whether the goal is performance, reconciled metrics, or a cleaner design on top of the same data.
How long does a typical Tableau engagement take?
A single dashboard or a focused audit is usually two to four weeks. A full reporting system from audit through delivery takes longer. Scope gets defined in the first call.
Do you work as a Tableau freelancer or a consultant?
Both describe the same work. As an independent Tableau consultant, or freelancer if that is the term you use, you work directly with me, the person building your dashboards, with no agency layer in between. Engagements range from focused Tableau dashboard development on an existing warehouse to a full reporting-system build.
